Police Predicted The Victims Of Apartment Fire in London Can Reach The Number Of 100

Police predicted that the victims from the apartment fire in Grenfell Tower, Kensington, London, could reach 100 people. This prediction rose from the condition where many residents could not survive after stucked in the great fire for 36 hours.

On the other hand, the police have also been investigating the incident since Friday (16/6), in order to seek the cause of the fire, in case if the fire was done on purpose.

That investigation could be concluded on the prosecution for the party that is responsible for defects of the structure or design of the building, which caused a fire.

"The police have begun investigating since yesterday. I've reviewed the location and one of our senior investigators will lead the investigation," said London's Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy, quoted by AFP.

The investigation will be collaborated with other investigation agencies, he added.

"I expect the number of victims does not reach a terrible point," he said.

The time to seek another victims could be estimated time for months.

The members of labour members in Parliament have asked an investigation over the absence of fire extinguisher system, as well as the issue of reserved cladding which surrounds the building.

A similar case also was questioned by a member of Parliament, Tottenham, while adding the responsible party should be charged with murder.

"This is one of the wealthiest regions in the United Kingdom. The citizens was treated arbitrarily. We have to mention it as a case of murder," he said.

The current investigation is focused on the building's facade which surrounding the cladding, as part of a renovation project. Observers said that the Government should prohibit the material used in building renovation project.

Cladding or pillar used were made of metal panels with plastic core, made the fire spread rapidly.
