Attacked by JIhad Group, Two Were Killed in Luxurious Resort

Some tourist became a victim of jihad group standoff in a luxurious resort in Bamako, the capital city of Mali, Sunday (18/6). As many as 20 tourists coukd be saved, but two people were killed.


"That was an attack of jihad groups. The special forces of Mali have already attacked and freed 20 of the hostages," said Mali's Security Minister told news agency AFP toward the incident that occured in the resort that is frequently visited by foreign tourists. The death were France-Gabon ancestry.

Shortly after the Kangaba resort overrun by the attackers, the Mali special forces that are supported by France and the United Nation, immediately besieged the area. Local people expressed that many gunshots and smoke soared from building.

The attack on a resort in Bamako, Mali was also happened 2 years ago. The armed group attacked the Radisson Blu resort in November 2015 and tooke guests and staff as hostages. This incident led to 20 deaths, including 14 foreigners.

The attacks in November was claimed by the Islamic Maghreb that affiliated with the Al Qaidah. In March in the same year, an attack with grenades and firearms, occurred in the nightclub La Terrasse in Bamako. Five people were killed, including foreigners.

Nigerian army Claims the Second Rescue of Chibok Girl

A second schoolgirl that was seized in the Nigerian town of Chibok has been found, the army says. But a spokesman for the Chibok girls' parents has cast doubt on the claims, saying that the girl's name is not on the families' list of those missing. An army spokesman said Serah Luka was among a group of 97 women and children rescued by troops in the north-east. Islamist militant group Boko Haram has abducted thousands of other girls in recent years, rights groups estimate. This comes two days after the rescue of the first Chibok girl, Amina Ali Nkeki. The army has previously given misleading statements about the rescue of the Chibok girls - in its initial statement after Ms Nkeki was found, it used a wrong name.
