Global media mogul Rupert Murdoch and model Jerry Hall were married Friday in London, according to the Press Association, which quoted a spokesman for the Murdoch family.

The couple announced their engagement earlier this year.

Murdoch, 84, a native Australian, is one of the most powerful media barons in the world. Hall, 59, is the former longtime companion of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, with whom she has four children.

The couple married in a ceremony at Spencer House in Green Park. They'll hold a private ceremony of celebration on Saturday at St. Bride's Church on London's Fleet Street, which proclaims itself the "spiritual home of the media."
